This series of mono-prints depicts women’s gowns, coats, suits and dresses from the histories of cinema, pop culture and politics. The article of clothing often plays a significant transformative role in the narrative that it is set in.
Several of Donis’ limited edition prints were created in collaboration with the East Los Angeles artist-run space Self Help Graphics. He has collaborated with the University of Texas, Austin, the College of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Georgia College & State University, Atlanta, and Duganne Ateliers, Santa Monica, CA.
These one-off experimental prints were produced using found religious posters, silkscreen, unconventional paper, and digital imaging.
