BEAUTY HAPPENING

Produced from 1999 - 2000 "Beauty Happening" (aka Freeway Flowers) was a public-art guerrilla action, targeting various Los Angeles freeways.

Oversized plastic sculptural flowers were made from road stanchions and plastic milk cartons. They were then placed along the shoulder landscaping of highways; converting traffic environments into drive-by fantasies.

This project was included in River Visions installations along the LA River, Immigrant Eyes a site specific exhibition at Angeles Gate Cultural Center, and Still life, still here at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena.
