ALTAR DE AMORCurated by the artist Gronk as part of the Day of the Dead exhibit “Noche de Risas Altares” at the UCLA Hammer Museum, Altar de Amor was a site-specific installation of plexi-glass panels mounted directly onto the second-floor glass railing that overlooks the museum’s inner courtyard.Observing this “balcony” as a place of devotional worship, the images tease out ideas of love and desire. Most of the text quotes in Spanish are from Mexican love songs.
